This book aims to discover how the concept of Contradiction was born in ancient Greece and how this phenomenon acted, through an analysis of the works Testimonies, Fragments, Speeches by the sophist Antiphon and Euthydemus by the philosopher Plato. Contradiction is a phenomenon that is difficult to appreciate, but the ability of contradiction to develop new and opposing ideas in people's minds due to the incompatibility found in the same fact has instilled a desire to explore this phenomenon. Through the analysis of dialogues by Antiphon and Plato, we seek to expand the mode of interpretation and explore this arduous mission regarding the conceptualization of contradiction. The study of the sophists and their methods was essential, along with Plato's criticisms of the sophists. From the perspective outlined here, I believe that it will be extremely important for a satisfactory conclusion regarding the practice of discourses considered contradictory and how to interpret them, to examine conflicting discourses between two theses presented in a concrete way that have elements in common and also dissonant.
