Viscerally evocative, Dana Schutz''s newest paintings and sculptures depict allegorical scenes in which often grotesque characters negotiate their subjecthood. Schutz''s large-scale paintings and sculptures portray tragicomic situations populated by characters preoccupied with self-preservation as they tilt towards oblivion.
