In the tumultuous setting of Nájera, Castile, Spain, in the year 1367, intrigue and ambition unleash a bloody battle for the throne. With courage and determination, she leads armies in fierce battles fought in Toledo and Zamora, while seeking the support of an ancestral force: the Holy Grail, guarded in the venerated monastery of San Juan de la Peña, in Huesca, by the future Pope Luna and the Order of San Juan del Hospital. In this quest, Juana will face challenges and betrayals that will test her mettle and loyalty. But the struggle for power is not her only challenge. Juana's strong character drives her to seek justice for a personal tragedy, commissioning Sister Lucia de Ribera to investigate the mysterious death of her maid. This obsession for the truth will pit her against the powerful Castilian nobility, where every step can mean the difference between victory and ruin.
About the author
JAVIER MÁS (Castellón, 1971). Doctor en Historia Contemporánea y académico de la Real academia de Cultura Valenciana, centra su trabajo en la Universidad Europea de Valencia, donde ejerce como Director de Máster y docente especializado en Educación. Conferenciante, da rienda suelta a su pasión por la Historia amalgamando literatura y pasado. Durante los últimos años se ha especializado en novela histórica sobre la Edad Media, así como ensayos diversos centrados en los siglos XIV y XV. La faceta investigadora le ha llevado a estar en contacto permanente con instituciones académicas de Madrid, Sevilla, Zaragoza o Bucarest, dotándolo de una visión global sobre los hechos históricos europeos. Además, forma parte de grupos de investigación en la Universidad Universidad Europea de Madrid y de Valencia, centrando su trabajo en aspectos sobre la ética y la historia de la economía, así como trabajos en educación inclusiva e inteligencia artificial. Además, formó parte de equipos interdisciplinares universitarios con profesores de Portugal, Italia o Austria. Colaborador en diversos medios de comunicación, ha participado en documentales sobre mujeres en la historia de España y personajes históricos de la Baja Edad Media en la península. Ha sido premiado por su obra literaria en 2023, consolidándose como autor de narrativa histórica en la editorial Almuzara, donde ha publicado, entre otros, La reina de Espadas.
