There was once a greedy wolf. He was so greedy that every day he would eat enough food for TEN birthday parties and still be hungry for more...

A wicked and ravenous wolf is on the prowl for dinner when he spots, dun dun dun, seven young goats ... left at home alone. But, fear not, whilst these kid goats may be little, they are clever, innovative and have enough downright silly tricks in hand to avoid getting eaten and maybe even ... get a little (or rather big) snack themselves. Storytelling master Timothy Knapman and graphic genius Jean Jullien have come together to create a thoroughly entertaining read (and laugh)-aloud picture book version of the ancient Grimms fairy tale "The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats".

About the author

I have written lots of picture book stories (including Mungo and the Picture Book Pirates, Dinosaurs in the Supermarket and Eleanor’s Eyebrows) and a few books for older children (of which my favourite is My Uncle Foulpest: Dinosaur Disaster). I write funny stories mostly, and, when I’m not writing for children, I write plays and I co-write musicals (with clever people who can write music because I can’t). I live in Surrey, which is very nice – but disappointingly empty of dragons.

Report

Timothy Knapman's funny updated telling of the Grimm Brothers, The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids with Jean Jullien's illustrations of the mock-scary wolf are sure to make young audiences laugh. Red Reading Hub
