Ornamental plants for use in urban areas are considered essential for the implementation of parks, gardens and their use in sidewalks and backyards, however, it is important to consider their growth habit, appearance, shading capacity and visual appeal, as well as, in the case of their management, their resistance to drought and tolerance to high and low temperatures, their adaptation to certain types of soil. Care must be taken from its selection to its management for its use in landscaping, as well as its planting in squares, gardens and forests, that is to consider from the color of its leaves and its flowering capacity with the purpose of being attractive to passers-by. Nowadays, in big cities, care is taken from damage to drainage, wiring and collateral damage to pavements, so that this document is a guide to know in more detail the species considered and make good decisions when designing green areas in urban areas.
