The semantic representation of action refers to both the organization in memory of knowledge about actions and their processing. The semantics of action relate to the sensory-motor representations linked to execution, and are expressed through verbs and gestures. Any representation of the lexicon expressing actions (verbs, verbal expressions, nominalization) forms explicit knowledge about functional objects. This view is in line with the perspectives of linguists who demonstrate the presence of cognitive primitives (Jackendoif, 1983, Desclés, 1985). The meaning of a sign in a discourse is a representation in which the semantic value in language is combined. This representation is constructed by the brain's cognitive relations with reference to the objects that surround us. Asking a person to perform the action of closing an open door is expressed by the following statement: "close the door", and more often in colloquial language by "the door!", but infrequently by "close". With this in mind, we're interested in the action verb in aphasia.
