Informationen zum Autor Miral al-Tahawy was born in 1968 in Sharqiya in the Egyptian Delta into a Bedouin family of the al-Hanadi tribe! the youngest of seven children. She earned her MA in Arabic language and literature from Cairo University in 1995. Her first novel! The Tent! was widely acclaimed when it was first published in Arabic; it was published in English by the AUC Press in 2000. Anthony Calderbank has translated several works of modern Arabic fiction! including Haggag Hassan Oddoul's Nights of Musk (AUC Press! 2005) and Yousef Al-Mohaimeed's Wolves of the Crescent Moon (AUC Press! 2007).
