As society has evolved, the way we get our consumer goods has changed. What used to be bought in public markets is now bought in large supermarket chains. At the head of these chains we find the figure of cashiers, also known as checkout operators, who are the subject of much academic research. However, most of these studies are aimed at studying Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) and Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs). This study will show, through an interview based on Ivar Oddone's method, the work activity of these operators, showing some of the constraints they suffer in the course of their work, as well as the main strategies they use to cope with these constraints.
