About the author
Kelvin Hughes is a leading authority on construction contracts and has had substantial theoretical and practical experience of all contracts, including NEC, JCT and FIDIC, over a 49-year working life, including four years as a full-time consultant to a major project management company drafting a suite of contracts for use on public projects in Qatar, and was also head of contracts/claims for another major project management company in Qatar. He has written eleven previous practical books on construction contracts.
Patrick Waterhouse is an adjudicator, mediator and expert determiner specialising in NEC, JCT and PFI contracts. He is a member of ten adjudicator nominating body panels. He has worked with NEC contracts since their first publication in the early 1990s. He is a chartered civil engineer, a chartered surveyor and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
