More than a Gathering - Reflections from the Poets @ Artfest 2023 poetry festival

Poets @ Artfest has been an annual multiday outdoor poetry festival held in Kingston, Ontario over the July 1st holiday weekend since 2015, as part of the larger Artfest Kingston art festival that fills Kingston's City Park. In 2024, we will be holding our tenth poetry festival there from Saturday, June 29th through Monday, July 1st. On that Sunday morning there, we will start off the day in celebration with the official launch of this anthology.
Every one of these poetry festivals have been so very wonderful and beautiful, offering forty to fifty featured poets each year. There was, though, something about the 2023 festival that made it feel magical.
The vetted poetry included in this anthology is a collection of poems submitted by those who participated in the 2023 event: featured poets, open mic participants, and workshop attendees. Within the pages between these covers, I believe that as you read, you'll touch upon some of that magic.
