Description

Fluid Mechanics: An Intermediate Approach helps readers develop a physics-based understanding of complex flows and mathematically model them with accurate boundary conditions for numerical predictions. The book includes numerous worked examples and end-of-chapter problems for student practice.

List of contents

1. Review of Undergraduate Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics. 2. Potential Flow. 3. Navier-Stokes Equations: Exact Solutions. 4. Boundary Layer Flow. 5. Compressible Flow. 6. Computational Fluid Dynamics of Turbulent Flows: An Overview of Theory and Applications. Appendix A: Review of Necessary Mathematics. Appendix B: Vorticity, Vortex, and Circulation. Appendix C: Euler's Turbomachinery Equation.
