About the author

Leigh A. Payne is Professor of Sociology and Latin America at the University of Oxford, St Antony's College. She has won awards from the National Science Foundation, the Economic and Social Research Council, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the British Academy, and others for her research on human rights, transitions from authoritarian rule and armed conflict, the armed right wing, and business.Gabriel Pereira is a researcher at the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas Técnicas of Argentina (CONICET) and an affiliated researcher to the Latin American Centre of the University of Oxford. He is also a Professor in Human Rights at the School of Law at the National University of Tucumán. He has written in journals and books on fields including transitional justice, business and human rights, human rights, and judicial politics. He is a co-founder and member of the human rights organization Andhes.Laura Bernal-Bermúdez is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia. She is also affiliated with the Latin American Centre at the University of Oxford as a research consultant. In her work she uses mixed methods to look at issues related to armed conflict and access to justice in contexts of transition for victims of grave human rights violations.
