About the author
Kalyan Kumar Ganguly (Gangopadhyay) did his BE in civil engineering from Jadavpur University in the year 1964. He is a qualified Chartered Engineer (London) and did his Ph.D. from Teesside, U.K. in the year 1972. He has over 56 years of experience in India and U.K. covering Design, Site supervision, Project Management, Research and Teaching. The spectrum of projects will include Bridges, Power Projects, Fertilizer Projects, Chemical Plants, Heavy Civil Engineering Projects, University Complexes, Hotels and Resorts, Research Centers, Housing and Commercial Complexes etc. Some of the Special Projects with alternative building materials will cover Ferro Cement, Compressed Earth Blocks, Rammed Earth Construction etc. He has also handled Repair and Rehabilitation Projects covering Buildings, Bridges and Heritage Structures.
