La primera parte es un manual para ayudar a uno en su organización de su homilía/sermón/presentación. E logra llegar al corazón del oyente en la forma que le encanta oír la palabra predicada. P. Eduardo usa todo lo que contiene el manual, como lo hizo en el Seminario de San Patricio en Menlo Park, CA. Ha dado talleres de Predicación en los Diócesis de San José, Stockton, Los Ángeles, Orange, San Bernardino y San Diego. También le dio un taller a la organización de Food for the Poor. Partes 2-4 forman una colección de sus mejores homilías durante los años que sirvió como párroco de Cristo Rey en San Diego, CA, y en La Santísima Trinidad en San José, CA. Sirvió 12 años y medio en Cristo Rey y 10 años en la Santísima Trinidad. Cristo Rey tenía 3 culturas (Negra, Hispana, y Blanca) y 2 idiomas. La Santísima Trinidad tenía 5 culturas (vietnamita, filipina, hispana, samoana, y blanca) y 4 idiomas. En la Santísima Trinidad se celebraba 10 Misas en 4 idiomas, con más de 7200 feligreses atendiendo.
El libro contiene 186 homilías para los 3 años eclesiales (A, B, y C) del Leccionario Católico. También contiene una bibliografía grande para ayudar al predicador/presentador prepararse a predicar.
About the author
A Jesuit since 1980, Fr. Eddie spent most of his 32 years in Ordained Ministry in parish work, 18 years as pastor of Christ the King San Diego and Most Holy Trinity San Jose. He holds a Masters in Divinity and Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley. His preaching has been effective in parishes in Spain, Mexico, and Uruguay. When his words are translated into Tagalog and Vietnamese, and when the homilies are delivered in English, with the translations given out, they are just as effective in those cultures as his own Hispanic Culture and his American English Culture. He sends out his weekly homilies to over 1500 people in both languages each week. Presently, he is the Director of the Permanent Diaconate in the Diocese of San Diego, after spending 4 years with the Loyola Institute for Spirituality in Orange, working with the Aspirants and Candidates for the Diaconate in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of Orange, CA.
