In this first in a series of stock-car mythologies, titans of the sport's glorious past come to life to race on a historic track resurrected in heaven.
Early titans like Flock and Petty tangle in the divine realm with more-recently departed icons like Earnhardt and Allison, retired giants like Stewart and Edwards, and open-wheel crossover titans like Foyt and Andretti, to reign in the heavens' annual contest before their tetrarch Big Bill France.
The prevailing titan will enjoy a year's divine rule over the sport's earthly fate, influencing not only races and championships, and jobs and careers, but also families and their fortunes. Which divine titan will prevail, and what will it mean here on earth?

Fred Vander Ploeg is a former test driver of IndyCars for Roger Penske, having test driven shakeout laps for some of Penske's most-famous IndyCar drivers.
