"Society is a transformer of realities. Since these realities are not understood in their totality, they are not and will never be understood as such in the light of any theory. There will always be an unattainable truth. But many educators feel obliged to fulfil the role of holder of the truth and of a reality from the point of view of a given knowledge, context and historical time. However, the most recent changes, demonstrated in the occupation movements in schools and universities, can serve as another incentive among many others, in the sense of exposing the need to rethink pedagogical practices, whether in school environments or not." In this book, the author presents a series of articles on new forms of Popular Education, conceptions of the Social/Student Movement and the setbacks of PEC 241/55 or the "PEC of Death" for education. The aim is to gain an understanding of the educational and amancipatory movements of the subjects involved in the process of occupying universities in protest against this reform and what relationships can be established between this social movement and the pedagogical and political practices presented.
