This book analyses the geographical and economic dynamics of the process of appropriation of capital and domination of space by the Il Campanário Villaggio Resort. It identifies the principles of environmental law, Brazilian environmental and urban legislation, and the phases of urbanisation in Florianópolis. Finally, the case of Il Campanário Villaggio Resort is used as the object of study. Its relationship with the government is analysed, as it contravenes the Principles of Environmental Law and Brazilian Environmental and Urban Planning Legislation, and could have perverse socio-environmental impacts on the city of Florianópolis, especially on the communities in the north of the island, which are actively resisting the development.
