This book will present the entry into force of Law no. 11.340/06, known as the Maria da Penha Law, which creates mechanisms to curb and prevent the practice of domestic and family violence against women, a cause of controversy with regard to its exclusive application to women in the face of the principle of equality and the analysis of analogy. As a result, the aim of this study is to analyse whether it is possible to apply this law in the case of violence by women against men.
