The use of biopolymers such as chitosan has been studied for various applications, as it is a natural polysaccharide that has great potential, showing antimicrobial activity, biocompatibility, biodegradability and healing power, as well as forming viscous solutions and films. Its properties may be suitable for use in dressings with the addition of hen's egg cell membrane. The cell membrane is made up of fibrous proteins such as collagen, hyaluronic acid and a range of other nutrients, substances that occur naturally and play an essential role in maintaining connective tissue, reducing pain and stiffness in the joints. It was therefore proposed to develop films composed of chitosan and hen's egg cell membrane for use in the treatment of burns.
