Dance plays a fundamental role in the teaching and learning process in early childhood education, as it contributes directly to children's development, providing countless possibilities for experience. Through dance activities, children discover various ways of moving, building concepts, ideas and actions. By making movements, children get to know their bodies and their limitations, facing challenges and interacting with other children, expressing feelings and communicating through body language, contributing to both physical and intellectual development and capacity. In this way, the teaching of dance becomes of paramount importance in the school environment. This book is based on discussing the limits and possibilities of introducing dance teaching as a learning method in early childhood education and its importance in the school curriculum and pupil development. Therefore, the study becomes of paramount importance to emphasise dance in early childhood education for better improvement and resourcefulness.
About the author
The first author is a Master's student in the Postgraduate Programme in Development and the Environment (PRODEMA-UFPE). She works in the areas of Geographical Sciences and Education (Teacher Training, Geography Teaching and Information Technology). Her research focuses on the Right to the City in the Production of Tourism in Coastal Environments.
