The main aim of this book is to analyse the subject of "Adoption of children by homosexual couples in Brazilian law", addressing the new forms of families created in today's society, understanding the historical evolution, the concept and legal recognition of filiation by homosexual couples, and the constitutional principles of the dignity of the human person, equality and freedom. The purpose of this study is not to exhaust the subject or to give preference to people's sexual choices, but to deal with the due recognition of the new societies that are being born and to fulfil the dream not only of children and adolescents abandoned in foster homes of growing up in the warmth of a home, but also the dream of many couples of this new era who have the possibility of giving them a different destiny, under the light of the law. As we read on, we have to keep in mind the answer to the best fate for a child who has been removed from the biological bond. To be adopted off the streets? To be adopted by foster carers or to be adopted by a homosexual couple and have the chance to build their own story?

El libro fue escrito por las autoras Aline Graciela Kieffer y Cliseldes Kieffer cuando ambas eran estudiantes de Derecho. Fue el tema de conclusión de la licenciatura en Derecho de Aline G.
