Sandy, a young Cairn terrier, moves from Scotland with his owner, Angus, to start a new life in South Devon. While temporarily lodging on a farm, a serious accident results in his adoption by the Rossiter family. A few years later, Sandy gets into more trouble, putting his life in danger and accounting for one of the worst moments in the author's life.

About the author










Jo Lapthorn was born at Cholwells in 1947 and spent her childhood on the family farm, thus establishing her love for animals, nature and the South Devon countryside. She and John have lived nearby during their 50 years of marriage. They have three children and eight grandchildren. Jo's hobbies include beekeeping, beachcombing and birdwatching.
