Wesley Cole is a native of Toledo, Ohio. He was born and raised in the sixties and seventies, a period marked by social upheaval and cultural shifts with the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, the Hippie Movement, and the surge in marijuana and heroin use. This formed the backdrop against which Wesley's tumultuous life unfolded. His memoir, A Legend in My Own Mind, provides a poignant glimpse into a life entangled with the shadows of alcohol and drug addiction, a journey that ultimately led him to redemption.Growing up in an environment saturated with drugs and crime, Wesley's early years were far from conventional. He sought solace in alcohol from a remarkably young age, the first taste of which lingered in his memory at the tender age of seven. He was caught in the vicious cycle of addiction, crime, incarceration, homelessness, and thirteen years of crack cocaine use. Wesley's existence seemed destined for despair.
