"Ich habe mein ganzes Leben in LA gelebt. Vor ungefähr 10 Jahren zog ich für ein paar Monate nach Malibu. Ich bin nie von dort weggegangen. Warum? Nur ein paar Dutzend Meilen von Los Angeles entfernt fühlt sich Malibu oft wie eine völlig andere Welt an. Hier können Sie Ihr Frühstück mit Delfinen und Robben teilen oder Surfern dabei zusehen, wie sie auf der perfekten Welle reiten. Aber es ist mehr als das - Malibu weckt das Gefühl einer einfacheren, glücklicheren und freieren Zeit. Ich wollte diese Energie des unschuldigen, verspielten, freigeistigen, sexy Spaßes in diesem Buch einfangen und sie teilen. (Spaß wird heutzutage völlig unterschätzt.) Mein Ziel ist es, Menschen zum Lächeln zu bringen. Und warum sollte man das Lächeln auf Menschen beschränken? Daher wird das gesamte Geld, das ich mit diesem Buch und den darin enthaltenen Bildern verdiene, an Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen für gefährdete Tiere gespendet (siehe letzte Seite oder gehen Sie zu www.malibublonde.com für weitere Informationen). Vielleicht können wir auch Tiere glücklicher machen. Ich möchte in erster Linie allen Models danken, die ihre Zeit ehrenamtlich zur Verfügung gestellt haben, um Tieren zu helfen.
About the author
Film Producer Lawrence Kasanoff makes movies (Platoon, Terminator 2, True Lies, Mortal Kombat); animated movies (Lego Star Wars the Empire Strikes Out) and theme park rides (Marvel Superheroes 4D; The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman). Years ago, he started bringing his camera to film sets around the world. (He’s seen here location scouting for a fantasy martial arts film in Rajasthan, India). In the process, he became a passionate photographer. His book, A Touch of the Madness (BenBella Books via Penguin Random House) inspires people to be their most creative by being a little crazy. He holds a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

“I’ve lived in LA my whole adult life. About 10 years ago, I moved to Malibu for what I thought would be a few months. I never left. Why? Just a few dozen miles from Los Angeles, Malibu often feels like a totally different world. This is where you can share your breakfast with dolphins and seals, or watch surfers ride the perfect wave. But it is more than that. Malibu evokes a feeling of a simpler, happier, freer time. Go anywhere in the world and mention Malibu, and people associate it with images of that time: blonde women frolicking on the beach - young, pretty, happy, without a care in the world; old red Mustang convertibles; puppy dogs chasing footballs; Beach Boys music; movie stars; surfing and fun, fun, fun.
