About the author

A former BBC Radio 4 producer and foreign correspondent, Derek Davies is a freelance travel writer whose work appears regularly in the Daily Telegraph in London. He has also written books on Thailand, the Greek Islands, and Ireland. After months of research and extensive exploration throughout the country, he rates Ecuador and the Galapogos Islands as one of the world's best travel destinations.

Robert Holmes teaches photography at the University of California, Berkeley and his work appears in National Geographic, Geo, and other magazines.
