Children need to understand God's free will choice of salvation in Jesus Christ, or the damnation of the world and hell. Utilizing his creative advertising skills, Scott paired the truths of the scripture with simple but powerful illustrations that explain the child's choice. After teaching children and teenagers in Sunday school for 15 years, Scott knew children could grasp the concept behind the scripture if the Biblical point could be illustrated. Fifty-six illustrations in the book visualize every child's problem, God's solution, the journey with Christ and their identity and purpose as a Christian. Playing off the letter U and utilizing Galatians 6:7-8 and Colossians 1:27, Scott shared the meaning of "Christ in you, the hope of Glory." The kids in his Sunday School class understood that what is in them defines them, and if they invited Jesus into their hearts by faith, their lives would be transformed forever. Children can understand how we are vessels designed by God to be filled with God's love and spirit. Scott designed the book to be kid-friendly and parent-friendly, so the parent could become the teacher. Parents are the most influential adults in their children's lives and are therefore the best presenters of God's plan of salvation. Twelve years in the making, Good News For You Child And Parent Devotional is 45 day study of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Good News For You Child And Parent Coloring Book is a companion book to the devotional. These two books are the books Scott wishes his father and mother would have read to him when he was a boy.

About the author

Scott Middleton, follower of Jesus, has been an advertising art director, advertising sales executive prior to his current role as publisher for Our Journey Publishing company. Scott graduated from The University of Tennessee - Knoxville in advertising and worked in the field for over twenty years, winning five Addy Awards. Then on January 12, 1999, Scott was saved by the grace of God. After that moment, and for the next fifteen years, God began to use Scott's creative talents combined with his professional advertising skills to teach children in Sunday School. Instead of making customers buy more products, Scott's goal became to make children into disciples of Jesus Christ. Using Galatians 6:7-8 and Colossians 1:27, Scott explained the Gospel to his third graders using clear illustrations and simple concepts. Playing off the letter "U," Scott shared the meaning of "Christ in you, the hope of Glory." The kids in his Sunday School class understood that what is in them defines them, and if they invited Jesus into their hearts by faith, their lives would be transformed forever. Scott designed his books to be kid-friendly and parent-friendly, so the parents could become the teacher. Parents are the most influential adults in their children's lives and therefore the best presenters of God's plan of salvation. The Good News For You books are meant to empower parents so they could share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their children.
