About the author

Courtney and Stace are the co-founders of a wooden toy business and first time authors. They raise two wonderful little boys moments away from the Pacific Ocean and towering redwood forests; thus the local environment inspired the title of their company Waves and Wood, LLC. When their youngest was born, Courtney started a tradition of leaving hand crafted toys at their older son's door as a surprise to wake up to -- a little token to remind him how loved he is even when he has to share his parents' attention. This grew into a small batch manufacturing toy company. Courtney designed and hand crafted various characters that motivated us to write this story, hopefully inspiring open ended imaginative play in little ones!Stace was born and raised in Silicon Valley, and started to code in middle school. He decided to study computer graphics to satisfy his own desire to add something beautiful to the world. He loves to play and watch basketball, especially his hometown Golden State Warriors.
