Après avoir obtenu une maîtrise et un doctorat en anatomie vétérinaire au Madras Veterinary College, le Dr Kumar travaille actuellement comme scientifique à l'Advanced Institute for Wildlife Conservation, à Chennai. En tant que chercheur, il a travaillé avec des médecins et des chercheurs de l'IIT Madras sur divers modèles animaux. Il a de l'expérience dans l'enseignement aux diplômés en médecine vétérinaire et en agriculture.
