This classic work emphasises the properties and calculation of reverberation. It now covers new measurement and simulation techniques, spatial and directional analysis, psychophysical experimental approaches, sound absorption and scattering through wall corrugations; and the design and performance of sound reinforcement systems.

List of contents

1. Some facts on sound waves, sources and hearing. 2. Reflection and scattering. 3. Sound waves in a room. 4. Geometrical room acoustics. 5. Reverberation and steady-state energy density. 6. Sound absorption and sound absorbers. 7. Subjective room acoustics. 8. Measuring techniques in room acoustics. 9. Design considerations and design procedures. 10. Prediction models. 11. Electroacoustical systems in rooms.
