This text comes from a master's thesis submitted to the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Pelotas, with some modifications for this publication. It is a case study in which a teacher tells us about her life trajectory and her experiences and encounters with black subjects, such as the construction of her sensitive gaze, for the discussion of the presence and valuation of black ethnicity in Brazilian society, through practices of resistance carried out within the school.
