Proposed Methodological Approach to the Pythagorean Theorem - Contrast with the proposal of the Ministry of Public Education of Costa Rica, case developed in a public school

Methodological proposal to develop the Pythagorean Theorem contrasted with the new programs of the Ministry of Public Education of Costa Rica (MEP), a case developed during the 2011 school year at the Pocococí Night School. The main idea of the work was to analyze the proposal developed by the MEP in the new study programs for secondary education-mathematics, specifically in the approach given to the topic of the Pythagorean Theorem at the classroom level, identifying the methodology developed as well as knowing the opinion of teachers and students about the class dynamics when this topic is developed.

Professor de Matemática, licenciado em Ensino de Matemática pela Universidade Nacional da Costa Rica, trabalhou como professor universitário em várias universidades públicas e privadas da Costa Rica durante mais de 10 anos. Atualmente, trabalha como professor na escola de matemática do Instituto Tecnológico da Costa Rica (TEC).
