The dynamics of living beings has always implied alterations in ecosystems. From the primitive era to the present, natural resources have been used as raw materials for the production of goods and services (aimed at satisfying human needs) which, once consumed, generate waste and residues. The municipality of Heres, Bolivar State, is a place of daily production of solid waste that once generated is disposed of inadequately, revealing that there is no rational use of resources. In this sense, a model for the integral management of solid waste is designed, showing the need to articulate the Popular Power, the Public Power, the Private Companies and the Universities towards sustainable endogenous development, generating an alternative of community self-management based on the potential use of the solid waste produced in the municipal environment.
