Master en biodiversité des forêts tropicales et leur conservation de l'Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (Espagne) et de l'Universidad Central del Ecuador. Membre du groupe de spécialistes du tapir de l'Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (UICN) depuis 2004. Il a mené des recherches pour la conservation du genre Tapirus.
