The Social, Political and Economic Environment for Social Work Practice is designed to encourage practitioners to view behavior through a macro practice lens. Specifically, the text explores the influence that the economic and political systems have on social interactions and outcomes.

About the author
Janelle Barker Gibson is a Teaching Professor in Social Work in the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. Trained in both clinical interventions and macro practice, her career reflects the intersectionality of a social work career. She holds a master's degree in social work from St. Louis University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a Licensed Master of Social Work in Missouri.
