In addition, he spent two terms on the ASIS Board of Directors and four years as council vice president, where his leadership and oversight guided six councils and their volunteer members. McDonald is often sought for his opinions on training, certification programs, procedures, and policy issues, and he was appointed to The International Foundation for Protection Officers Board of Directors and currently is a member of the IFPO Advisory Board.
