The 1991 Political Constitution presents - both in its organic and dogmatic parts - diversity in terms of the development and addition of rights, as well as a detailed description of the organisation of power in its various branches. However, despite what the current of new constitutionalism highlights as the virtues of the normative development and changes brought about by the most recent constitutions in the region - based on international constitutional dogmas. Although the study of constitutional history in Colombia has been approached mainly from a political, social and economic perspective, it is necessary to delve into some aspects that are often neglected (the content of the constitutional text) but which shed light on the real advances that have taken place since the political charter and how, at present, these changes are echoed, in such a way that some of the ills that are being dragged along, which we intend to highlight in the work proposed here, are being dragged along.
