According to the WHO, more than 37 million falls occur annually, mostly in people aged 60 years and older, of which 646,000 falls are fatal, making it the second leading cause of unintentional injuries worldwide. The study involved the participation of 156 older adults aged 60 years and over. Each elderly person was interviewed and observed, using the J.H. DOWNTON scale to assess the risk of falls and the BARTHEL index to assess functional capacity.
