About the author

Kevin Lee Teather is Professor of Biology in the Department of Science at Prince Edward Island University, Canada. After earning his Ph.D. in evolutionary biology from Carleton University in Ottawa, he completed post-doctoral work at Cambridge University. Much of his research has involved examining differences between male and female birds in development, breeding, and feeding. He has been a faculty member at the University of Prince Edward Island for over 25 years, teaching courses in vertebrate zoology, animal behaviour, evolution, and most importantly, the evolution of sex.
