I believe we all desire to be deeply loved and cherished, even though we may convince ourselves that passionate love and connection only exist in the movies or that soulmates are downright fiction.
I know this because I was once one of those people who rolled my eyes at the idea of a soulmate. I was in a marriage in which I would frequently lock myself in the bathroom, hiding from my kids, so I could just sit on the floor and cry. I didn't understand where I had gone wrong. I gave my all, yet I felt constantly criticized and unappreciated.
Riddled with an increasingly intense, gnawing anxiety, and not knowing what else to do, I decided to heal. That's when everything changed.
Over the next 18 months, I found myself on an unbelievable journey, which started with a synchronous encounter with a stranger in a grocery store parking lot, and ended atop Colorado's red mountain soil, reading heartfelt, handwritten vows aloud with a man who is without a doubt my soulmate.
I went from the literal bottom (of my bathroom floor that is) to the top in a bewilderingly short period of time. When we make the decision to do the deep work of healing, we change our energy, and things begin to happen for us we never thought possible. It's not about finding the right partner. It's about finding our true self underneath all the stories, imprints, and stuff that this life has us buried under.
