The present study was carried out with the purpose of designing a program based on participative leadership directed to the management personnel of the Basic School Consuelo de Rodríguez de Yaritagua Municipality Peña, Yaracuy State. This research was increased in order to improve the weaknesses detected in the managers to reach the goals and achievements of an effective organization. This research was developed through the feasible project modality, supported by a descriptive field research. The methodology that was applied is conformed by the nature of the study that was treated in three phases. Phase I: diagnosis; Phase II: feasibility; Phase III: program design. La técnica que se utilizó fue la encuesta para recolección de datos, mediante un cuestionario con preguntas estructuradas en tres partes con la escala de liker, La validez se determinó mediante juicio de expertos, la confiabilidad se calculó con una prueba piloto con la estimación del Alpha Crochbach con un resultado de 0.89, la interpretación y el análisis de los datos se realizó a través de la frecuencia y porcentaje de la respuesta presentada en cuadros y gráficos pertinentes; considerando mayor y menor porcentaje, donde se evidencio la falta de liderazgo participativo en el directivo así como el bajo desempeño gerencial en sus funciones.
