Cecilia Grierson was born in Buenos Aires in 1859. She spent her childhood in Entre Ríos. In 1878 she was part of the first group of graduates of the Escuela Normal Nº1 of the Province of Buenos Aires. In 1882 she was admitted to the University of Buenos Aires and graduated as a physician in 1889. In 1886 she founded the first School of Nurses in South America. She was an active member and founder of numerous institutions such as: the Argentine Obstetric Association, the Argentine Society of First Aid, Argentine Red Cross, among others. In 1900, together with the collaboration of the Ladies of Charity, she founded the National Council of Women, becoming one of the first feminists in our country. Her life motto was: "Res non Verba". Actions not words. She died on April 10, 1934.

Ha lavorato presso il Museo "Benito Quinquela Martín" e il Museo Pío Collivadino della UNLZ, svolgendo compiti di ricerca e archiviazione. Ha partecipato come relatrice al III Congresso iberoamericano sugli studi di genere. Co-curatrice della mostra "Evita en imágenes".
