About the author

Dr. Nadia Barghouthi is an endocrinologist and Assistant Professor at West Virginia University. She serves as the assistant program director of the West Virginia University School of Medicine Endocrinology Fellowship.
Dr. Jessica Perini is an endocrinologist and Associate Professor at West Virginia University. She serves as the program director of the West Virginia University School of Medicine Endocrinology Fellowship. She also serves as the interim Section Chair of the WVU Endocrinology division.
