About the author

Carrie de Silva is a Principal Lecturer in Law and Taxation at Harper Adams University, UK and a director and trainer with BlueBox Partners Limited. She has taught on RICS accredited courses, predominantly for rural practice, for two decades and delivers CPD, specialising in civil and criminal liability for financial loss or personal injury, and small business taxation. She is a trustee of the British Federation of Women Graduates Scholarships Trust. She has written case books on Negligent Valuation, and Health and Safety, and a Short History of Agricultural Education and Research. Current research interests include conditional exemption for capital taxes and early women in the professions.
Jennifer Charlson is qualified as a Chartered Engineer and Solicitor with an MBA. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Architecture and Built Environment School at the University of Wolverhampton. She is a Joint Co-ordinator of the CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) W113 Law and Dispute Resolution Working Commission and a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Institution of Civil Engineers’ international journal: Management Procurement and Law.
