About the author
Jack Tsai, Ph.D., is a VA psychologist, associate professor of psychiatry at Yale University, and a leading researcher on homelessness. Dr. Tsai has focused on addressing veteran homelessness for over a decade. He has worked closely with colleagues at the National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans to understand and develop innovative approaches to veteran homelessness.
Summary
The challenges facing military veterans who return to civilian life in the United States are persistent and well documented. But for all the political outcry and attempts to improve military members' readjustments, veterans of all service eras face formidable obstacles related to mental health, substance abuse, employment, and -- most damningly -- homelessness.
