About the author
André F. Carvalho is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Federal University of Ceara, Brazil. He has published more than a hundred publications in leading scientific journals. In addition, he has been elected vice-chair of the section of Private Practice Psychiatry (World Psychiatric Association) and is a member of the board of councilors of the International Society of Bipolar Disorder (ISBD).
Eduard Vieta is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Barcelona and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at the Hospital Clinic, where he also leads the Bipolar Disorders Program in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. His unit is one of the worldwide leaders in clinical care, teaching and research on bipolar disorder. He also leads the Bipolar Research Program at the Spanish Research Network on Mental Diseases (CIBERSAM) and is the most cited scientist worldwide in the field of bipolar disorder over the last 5 years and one of the world's most influential scientific minds, according to Thompson Reuters.
