Ireland''s Great Famine and Popular Politics

Gegenstand des Buches ist der in der international vergleichenden Sozialstaatsforschung bisher vernachlässigte türkische Wohlfahrtsstaat. Es wird versucht, die institutionellen und strukturellen Besonderheiten des türkischen Wohlfahrtsstaates in einem historischen makrosoziologischen Vergleich mit Spanien und Griechenland herauszuarbeiten. So zeigt die Arbeit, dass trotz einer abweichenden historisch-politischen Entwicklung, der türkische Sozialstaat, aufgrund ähnlich gelagerter sozialstruktureller und sozialpolitischer Merkmale, einem südeuropäischen Wohlfahrtsregime zugeordnet werden kann.
