About the author

Joan Y. Chiao is the Director of the International Cultural Neuroscience Consortium and the Director of the International Consortium for Computational Cultural Neuroscience. She received her Ph.D. from Harvard University and B.S. from Stanford University. Her research on computational cultural neuroscience examines the computational principles of cultural processes in the structure and function of the nervous system.
