About the author










Marco Rovinello is Assistant Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Calabria. His research has been devoted to migrations and national identity in pre-unification Southern Italy and to conscription and military justice in post-unification Italy. His published works include Cittadini senza Nazione. Migranti francesi a Napoli (1793-1860) (2009) and Fra servitù e servizio. Storia della leva in Italia dall'Unità alla Grande Guerra (2020)
