Informationen zum Autor Sotirios Koutsopoulos, Ph.D. is a Senior Principal Scientist at Pfizer. He has held senior level positions in industry (Pfizer, i2o Tx, etc.), academia (MIT, UPenn, etc.), and as an advisor for biotech and consulting firms. He has authored more than 60 research papers, reviews, editorials, book chapters, and patents. He is on the Editorial Board of Cells, PLoS ONE, and Current Proteomics. Dr. Koutsopoulos has worked for more than 20 years on designer peptides with diverse applications in tissue engineering, tissue regeneration, drug delivery, biotechnology (for the stabilization of membrane proteins), bioengineering (for the development of nanoelectronic devices), and immunomodulatory peptides, and more recently, on the formulation and delivery of a variety of pharmaceutical compounds including peptides. His background in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, and biology and his expertise in the design and formulation of novel peptide sequences provide him with a broad overview of peptide research and allow him to identify scientific avenues which will shape the future of health sciences Klappentext Peptide Applications in Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Bioengineering summarizes the current knowledge on peptide applications in biomedicine, biotechnology and bioengineering. After a general introduction to peptides, the book addresses the many applications of peptides in biomedicine and medical technology. Next, the text focuses on peptide applications in biotechnology and bioengineering and reviews of peptide applications in nanotechnology. This book is a valuable resource for biomaterial scientists, polymer scientists, bioengineers, mechanical engineers, synthetic chemists, medical doctors and biologists. Inhaltsverzeichnis 1.
