About the author

Shad Deering, M.D., is a board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician with a passion for education. He is a nationally known innovator and leader in obstetric medical simulation and holds two patents for obstetric simulation teaching models. He has delivered babies in ten different States and a combat zone, given two TEDx talks, has over 100 publications, and has managed over thirty million dollars' worth of grants and external funding related to obstetrical care and teaching.
